Group history
In 1881, Francesco Matarazzo, a 27-year-old immigrant from the south Italian coast, was shipwrecked on the beaches of Santos in Brazil. With remarkable efforts and great entrepreneurial abilities, he created Industrias Reunidas Francesco Matarazzo (IRFI) in Brazil, which covered a variety of sectors including food, textiles, bottling, and packaging. Matarazzo was also involved in the banking sector. In 1900, Matarazzo founded the Commercial Bank of San Paolo - of which he was the greater shareholder. A few years later he held the titles of shareholder, charter member and first president of the Italian Bank of Brazil. Most importantly, however, he created the Italy-based bank Matarazzo. IRFI, known now as the Matarazzo Group, quickly became an industrial empire with 365 factories and over 30.000 employees. The Matarazzo Group is defined by the Encyclopedia Britannica as one of the six most important industrial groups in the world. Francesco Matarazzo is remembered alongside great businessmen of the time such as John Rockefeller, Henry Ford, and John Pierpont Morgan; he earned the title of Count from the Italian government in recognition of his economic and philanthropic contributions.
Matarazzo Holding
Francesco's great-great-granddaughter Livia Matarazzo di Licosa, in collaboration with the Bocconi University of Milan, developed the project Matarazzo Holding to create kindergartens and high quality schools for early childhood that today represent the best example of a Global provider and of integrated quality applied to structures and services for childhood. The Matarazzo Group, whose parent company is Matarazzo Holding, is made up of various companies all connected through one mission: the children

Our knowledge is tied to our ten-year direct management of childhood structures such as nurseries, kindergartens, parks and family centers on a global level.
Matarazzo Consulting
Offering solutions and consulting to both private and public companies, Matarazzo Consulting provides for the realization of corporate kindergartens. We understand the requirements of employees with small children, and assist institutions in the realization of support projects for first childhood and nurseries. Through collaborative efforts between public and private sectors, it will be possible to answer the growing demand from employees for kindergartens; at the same time offering financial support of the service offered to the community at a much faster pace.
Matarazzo Group Inc
The American holding company of the Matarazzo Group disperses the products and services offered by the different companies in the United States and in South America. In particular, the Matarazzo Group creates large centers with various functions in favor of the families and the children of the Matarazzo Family Club.
